Northeast Elite Hockey
Client Objective:
While Northeast Elite Hockey (NEH) stresses the fundamentals of hockey, it is a unique sports program in that it places exceptionally strong emphasis on the values of good sportsmanship and learning. In addition to delivering this message through programming, NEH wanted to encourage the youngsters of the program to exhibit sportsmanlike conduct.
bbi Response:
bbi created motivational posters that promoted team spirit, fun and skill development to the players in the league. The posters were placed in common areas at hockey rinks and ice arenas throughout New England. The posters combined league photos and testimonials from players who offered praise for the league and its coaches. The posters proved to be a winning idea for helping NEH to achieve its goals.
O'Sullivan Hockey, Rob Barletta's Hockey School, and Boston Cannons (MLL)
Client Objective:
Create a visually stimulating poster that informs potential players and/or fans of the organization's clinic/game schedule.
bbi Response:
bbi created exciting colorful posters that attracted viewers. However, design did not get in the way, as each poster clearly displayed the necessary information and lead to increases in participation and game attendance.
The Paper Store
Client Objective:
Over the first 40 years of its existence, the These banners created a welcoming feeling in the store, while serving as helpful directors for customers. The Paper Store had evolved from a stationery store into a multi-department establishment with 15 locations. Along with having the largest selection of Vera Bradley products in New England, each 10,000 to 15,000 square-foot store is a recognized Hallmark Gold Crown store complete with best-selling books, great gift ideas and toys. With such a large product selection, there grew a need for departmental division.
bbi Response:
The use of banners would organize the store and create an important overriding atmosphere. However, the standard retail department banner would give the store an unwelcome supermarket or warehouse feel. bbi developed a unique look with hand-illustrated graphics printed on warm and inviting colored fabric banners.
These banners created a welcoming feeling in the store, while serving as helpful directors for customers.
Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA)
Client Objective:
The MIAA was in need of a partner to assist in the development of marketing strategies and the implementation of a new brand identity.
bbi Response:
As part of the MIAA's new brand identity, bbi created a poster to increase participation in the association's 4th Annual Essay Contest. The poster was distributed to all of the MIAA's 356 member schools.
Ted Williams Museum
Client Objective:
The Ted Williams Museum has called on bbi twice to create souvenir posters to act as both Museum fundraisers and commemorative pieces.
bbi Response:
While the client objective was to raise money for the non-profit Museum, creating the Ted Williams Museum 18"x24" poster had two other key results. First, it supplemented the Museum merchandise, which is sold on tedwilliamsmuseum.com and at the Museum itself. Also, in coordination with a Museum campaign at Red Sox spring training, the poster was sold, working to increase awareness of the Museum among Red Sox and baseball fans alike.
The Museum again looked to bbi to create a commemorative poster for the annual New Hampshire Baseball Dinner benefiting the museum. The 2004 event featured Johnny Pesky, Bobby Doerr and Dom DiMaggio, Ted Williams' three teammates about whom the book The Teammates was written by David Halberstam.
CVS/pharmacy
Client Objective:
On the corporate level, CVS/pharmacy wanted to build awareness of its internal RADAR website and VIPER system, both designed to offer employees web access and analysis capabilities via a single point of access.
bbi Response:
bbi was able to create fun, visually stimulating signs that were an essential tool in explaining the new systems to employees. Accompanying the RADAR signage were blinking buttons handed out to participating employees. The buttons are multipurpose as they remind employees of the programs and can be used to alert drivers to one's presence on the road while jogging or walking at night.
